The origin of this idiom is from the sailing days when the ships were no longer visible and the sailors may get confused about the location of the ship. In 1768, Sir William Blackstone used this idiom in this \u201c Commentaries of England\u201d and it has been used since then. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
