What is the Full Form of LLM?

LLM full form is Legum Magister. It is the Latin name for Master of Laws, which is an advanced postgraduate degree in Law. Simply put, the Master of Laws is also called LLM. Students who have obtained an LLB degree from a recognised university can pursue LLM. Master of Laws or LLM is usually for those who are already pursuing legal practice and have graduated with an undergraduate academic law degree. LLM course lasts for a year, in most cases. Recently, the Bar Council of India announced and made it clear that it plans to scrap the one-year course programme and introduce a two-year program length for LLM.
