Even after a short spell of rain, the streets around our school\u2014especially Road No. 3 and Road No. 5\u2014get completely filled with water.
There is no proper drainage system, and the water remains stagnant for 2\u20133 days. Many children, including me, are unable to walk safely to school, and some have slipped and injured themselves. Our teachers also arrive late due to traffic jams caused by the waterlogging.
Last month, our school had to remain closed for two days after heavy rainfall on 10th July. This has a serious impact on our studies. Moreover, the water is dirty and foul-smelling, raising concerns about diseases and infections among parents.

This stagnant water has led to a large increase in mosquito breeding. In the past month alone, around 10 people in our colony have been treated for dengue and malaria, including small children.
In many parts of LBS Nagar, such as Street No. 2 and the area near the community park, there is no proper drainage system. Garbage also floats in the water, causing a foul smell. Residents are unable to walk outside, and senior citizens are finding it unsafe to reach the clinic.

Due to poor drainage, even a short spell of rain results in heavy water accumulation on the roads. Last week, after just 45 minutes of rainfall, traffic was stuck for nearly two hours. Buses, bikes, and cars could not move, and many people were forced to walk through knee-deep water. My father\u2019s scooter even stopped working due to water damage.
