It causes a very bad smell and can lead to diseases like dengue and typhoid.

I request you to please install more dustbins in public places and near homes. Also, regular collection of garbage by the Panchayat staff will help keep the village clean. If possible, awareness programs should be held in the village to teach people about the importance of cleanliness.

Many drains in our village are blocked and full of stagnant water. These drains are not cleaned regularly. This leads to bad smell, mosquito breeding, and water overflow during the rains. In many areas, the dirty water flows on the roads, making it difficult to walk. According to a 2023 rural sanitation report, 70% of health problems in villages are due to poor drainage and open sewage.

Also, some of the handpumps and taps are placed near drains or waste piles. This causes drinking water to get mixed with dirty water, making it unsafe. Some people in our village have already fallen sick due to waterborne diseases like diarrhea and cholera.I kindly request you to:
– Arrange for regular cleaning and repair of drains.
– Cover the open drains wherever possible.
– Test the water quality of handpumps regularly.
– Move water sources away from drainage points.
– Start awareness drives under Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Gramin Yojana.

In our village, there are not enough toilets, and many people are forced to go outside, especially in the early morning or at night. This is unsafe and unhygienic. Women, girls, and elderly people suffer the most. Open defecation also pollutes the environment and water sources. According to a government survey in 2024, over 22% of rural households in India still face problems due to a lack of proper toilets.

Though our village was declared open defecation-free (ODF), many toilets are either broken or without a water supply. People are also not fully aware of the harmful effects of poor sanitation.

I request you to:
