Today, I feel proud to speak on Ambedkar Jayanti, celebrated every year on 14th April. In 2025, we are celebrating the 134th birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, who was born in 1891 in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. He is known as the \u201cFather of the Indian Constitution.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Ambedkar faced many struggles in life because he belonged to a Dalit family. In those days, Dalits were treated badly. But Ambedkar believed that everyone is equal. He studied hard and became one of the first Indians to study abroad. He earned doctorates from Columbia University (USA) and London School of Economics (UK).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He played a big role in writing the Indian Constitution and made sure it gave equal rights to everyone, no matter their caste, religion, or gender. He also fought for women\u2019s rights and education for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ambedkar Jayanti is a national event. People all over India pay tribute to him by organizing rallies, speeches, and social programs. Schools also hold essay and speech competitions so that students can learn about his life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We must follow Dr. Ambedkar\u2019s values of equality, education, and justice. His life teaches us to fight against unfair treatment and always stand up for what is right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Long Speech on Ambedkar Jayanti<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Good morning everyone,
Respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today I feel proud to speak on a very important day \u2013 Ambedkar Jayanti, which is celebrated every year on 14th April. In 2025, we are observing the 134th birth anniversary of a great Indian leader, Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, who is also known as Babasaheb Ambedkar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Ambedkar was born on 14th April 1891 in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. He was born in a poor family that belonged to the Dalit community, which faced a lot of social injustice in those times. Dalits were treated as untouchables, and they were not allowed to enter temples, schools, or drink water from public places. But Dr. Ambedkar did not let this stop him. He worked very hard and studied with full dedication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was a brilliant student. He went to Columbia University in the USA and later to London School of Economics in the UK, where he completed many degrees including law, economics, and political science. This was a big achievement at that time, especially for someone from a poor and backward community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Ambedkar believed in equality, justice, and education. After India got independence, he was made the Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee. He became the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, which came into force on 26th January 1950. This Constitution gave equal rights to all citizens, no matter what their caste, religion, or gender is. Because of him, we all have the right to vote, speak freely, and live with dignity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also worked hard for women\u2019s rights. He believed that a society cannot grow if its women are not respected or educated. He supported laws that allowed women to own property and seek divorce if needed. He also wanted equal pay for men and women doing the same job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Ambedkar knew that education is the key to changing society. He opened schools, started hostels, and gave importance to books and learning. He said, \u201cCultivation of mind should be the ultimate aim of human existence.\u201d<\/em> That is why we should read, think, and grow just like him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1956, Dr. Ambedkar converted to Buddhism along with lakhs of his followers. He believed in the teachings of Lord Buddha \u2013 peace, kindness, and equality. After a few months, he passed away on 6th December 1956. His cremation place in Mumbai is now known as Chaitya Bhoomi, where thousands of people go every year to pay respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friends, Ambedkar Jayanti is not just a day to remember a leader. It is a day to remember his values and vision. He wanted an India where no one is treated badly because of their caste, gender, or status. He wanted an India where every child goes to school, every woman feels safe, and every worker is treated with respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even today, we see his influence everywhere. Many students get scholarships under schemes named after him. There are statues of Dr. Ambedkar in almost every town and city. His face is also on Indian coins and stamps. These are not just symbols \u2013 they remind us of what he stood for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let us all take inspiration from his life. Let us study hard, treat everyone equally, and stand up for what is right. That will be the best way to honour Dr. Ambedkar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
