Dear Aunt,
I am relieved that you are recovering after the car accident. It could have been so much worse. I know you are still in a lot of pain though, and continued healing won’t be easy for you.

While you go through the process of recovery, I thought I would make some suggestions for how we can help in preventing something like this from happening again. I went to an NGO and visited the site and set up some safety measures and pieces of equipment on the roadside such as a danger sign board and other cautionary boards.\u00a0

Furthermore, once you are feeling up for it, we should get your vision checked and update your eyeglass prescription if needed. The place you meet accidents now and then due to people with less vision, especially in the evening. Good vision is so important for driving safety. I would also make sure that your car is serviced and in top shape with new tyres, inspection of brakes and more.

Down the road, would you consider taking a defensive driving refresher course? These courses offer classes, especially for seniors that review road rules and help improve driving skills. I took it a few years ago and found it helpful.

Please know I am not criticizing your ability to drive but just wanted to help you refresh and boost your existing skills of driving. I care about you deeply and don’t want to get hurt again. Let me know if you have other ideas for improving safety.
