Every year India celebrates National Safety Day on 4 March. The day commemorates the establishment of the National Security Council in 1966. It is followed by a one-week campaign called the National Safety Week Campaign starting on March 4 and lasting till 10 March. It focuses on spreading awareness about the safety measures one needs to take to prevent unforeseen mishappenings on roads, workplaces, or homes. This year in 2024, India will be celebrating its 53rd National Safety Day\/National Safety Week Campaign.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

History of National Safety Day<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  • The annual celebration of this day commemorates the establishment of the National Safety Council.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • It was established on March 4, 1966, by the Ministry of Labour and Employment of the Government of India<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Later on, the Council was established as a public trust under the Bombay Public Trust Act of 1950 in the year 2000. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The National Safety Council was constituted as a non-profit and self-financing body.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • It was in the year 1972 that National Safety Day was established for the first time in the history of India. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
