Find Out Everything Here"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Qutubuddin Aibak, also spelled as Qutub-ud-din Aibak was the first sultan of the Delhi Sultanate. He was born in Central Asia and belonged to a Turkish family. He was later sold to a local Qazi as a slave and raised in Persia. During this period of his life, he also became a slave of Muhammad of Ghor, also known as Muhammad Ghori. Over the years, he was put in charge of his stables. But how did he make his way to the throne? How did it all happen? Let us explore answers to these questions together.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-did-qutubuddin-aibak-ascend-to-the-throne\">How did Qutubuddin Aibak Ascend to the Throne?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Although Aibak was initially looking after <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/leverageedu.com\/discover\/general-knowledge\/indian-history-muhammad-ghori\/\">Muhammad Ghori\u2019s<\/a><\/strong> stables, he was eventually recruited into his military forces.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He married the daughter of Taj al-Din Yildiz of Ghazana which not only raised his rank and esteem in the society but also made him a strong candidate for the throne.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ghori conquered the throne of Delhi in 1193 and subsequently returned to Khorasan. This helped the ruler in expanding the horizons.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After successfully achieving victory in the Second <strong>Battle of Tarain <\/strong>in 1192, Qutubuddin AIbak was given the title of commander.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To win Turkish nobles, he married his sister to Qabacha and his daughter to Iltumish.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It was upon his persuasion that Ali Mardan was appointed as the governor of Bengal.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Among other achievement, he is most remembered for laying the foundations of Qutub Minar in Delhi.
