Another lesson was the importance of self-discipline. With schools closed, we had to manage our own studies, and I understood that being responsible for my own learning is very important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technology became a big part of our lives during lockdown. Online classes and digital learning showed me how the internet can be used for education, not just for fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, I learned to be grateful for simple things\u2014going outside, meeting friends, and even going to school! Lockdown made me appreciate these little joys of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2-Minute Speech on Things I Learned in Lockdown<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Good morning and welcome to everyone present here. I would like to thank you all for joining me here, as I stand here today to present my speech on \u2018Things I learned in lockdown.\u2019 We all went through the difficult times of lockdown during the COVID-19 era. The government\u2019s initial decision to implement a 21-day lockdown was seen as a horror in the nation.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Lockdowns and curfews imposed in 2020 and 2021 completely transformed our way of life. A \u2018New Normal\u2019 was introduced, such as work-from-home, social distancing, face masks, parent home-schooling, etc. Lockdown allowed us to take a step back and learn from our mistakes. As students, we have had some responsibilities towards ourselves and understand those critical situations.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018The first thing I learned in lockdown was to take good care of my mental health. As a student, I often felt academic-related stress and worried too much about my scores at school. Lockdown allowed me to understand that there are other things where I need to focus.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018I created a new timetable that included 8 hours of sleep, 3 healthy meals, 1 hour of a home workout, a new skill every week, helping my mother in the house choir, and reading the newspaper. This new routine provided me with stability and a sense of normalcy.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018After 4 weeks, I focused on maintaining social connections with my friends and relatives. Thanks to technology, we can connect with people in far-off places on video calls. Social interactions helped me to fight feelings of isolation. We used to share jokes, talk about movies and starts, and share our grievances on video calls.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Some other things I learned in lockdown were speaking Spanish, graphic designing, creative writing, cooking, and photography. I know I didn\u2019t master any of these, but, I did gain basic skills. Lockdown was a time when we could reflect on ourselves and see what we could do to make ourselves better. We all spend our lockdown time in different ways, and I\u2019m sure we all learned something new, something meaningful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Online learning became a reality for students, and I understood how useful the internet can be\u2014not just for entertainment but for education and skill development. Many people even started learning new hobbies like cooking, painting, and coding!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One important thing I realized was the need for mental health awareness. Staying indoors for months was not easy. Many people felt lonely, stressed, or anxious. This taught me that talking to loved ones and taking breaks from screens is necessary for our well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lastly, lockdown made me grateful for normal life. Going to school, meeting friends, traveling\u2014things we thought were normal actually became privileges. It taught me that we should never take things for granted and always appreciate what we have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
