Overview of the Scholarship <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The primary objective of the Sainik Schools is to prepare students academically, mentally, and physically for entry into the National Defence Academy<\/strong><\/a> (NDA) and Indian Naval Academy (INA). This year, around 1,33,515<\/strong> students sat for the AISSEE to secure a place among 3000<\/strong> vacancies available in Sainik Schools across the country. The Government of India and other State Governments also facilitate students\u2019 education by providing Sainik School Scholarship to the following categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Students having limited economic means<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Students having excellent academic track record.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Students belonging to Armed Forces background.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    But broadly speaking, there are only 2 scholarship scheme types available for students, namely for those who are – <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    i) Defence wards with their father in active service or retired (Airforce, Army, Navy) with a valid PPO (Pension Payment Order)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    ii) Students having limited economic means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Note:<\/strong> A student can only apply for a scholarship once from either of these categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Sainik School Scholarship: Important Dates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The registration process for this scholarship will start on 7 November 2024 (tentative)<\/strong>. Students who wish to enrol in the institute must fill out and submit their application form by 16 December 2024, 11:50 pm (tentative)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Types of Sainik School Scholarships<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    There are mainly 3 types of Sainik School Scholarship offered by the military-focused institute:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Merit Scholarships:<\/strong> These scholarships are awarded to students based on their academic performance in the All India Sainik School Entrance Examination<\/strong> (AISSEE).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      1. Means Scholarships:<\/strong> These scholarships are awarded to students from economically weaker sections<\/strong><\/a> of society.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          Sainik School Scholarship: Eligibility Criteria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          While the eligibility for different categories under the Sainik School Scholarship varies, here are some general criteria that students must satisfy to avail of a scholarship:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          1. The applicant must be an Indian national.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          2. The applicant must at least be 10-12 years of age.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          3. The applicant must have secured admission to a Sainik School through AISSEE.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          4. The applicant must be studying in Classes 6-12.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          5. The applicant must have an excellent academic record.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
