Since then, it has been a National holiday in the US. In Canada, it is celebrated on the second Monday in October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the history, 20 September 1620 was the day when 102 passengers left <a href=\"https:\/\/leverageedu.com\/universities\/university-of-plymouth\/\"><strong>Plymouth<\/strong><\/a> on a ship called Mayflower. They were in search of a new place to freely practice their <a href=\"https:\/\/leverageedu.com\/explore\/learn-english\/antonyms-of-faith-with-meaning-and-examples\/\"><strong>faith<\/strong><\/a> and live their life.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They reached near the tip of Cape Cod after 66 days of journey near the Hudson River. Then, they cross <a href=\"https:\/\/leverageedu.com\/universities\/massachusetts-institute-of-technology-mit\/\"><strong>Massachusetts<\/strong><\/a> Bay after one year. The Pilgrims eventually established a village at Plymouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The colonists experienced difficulties during the fall as they were unable to get food.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, in 1621 Native Americans helped the colonists and taught them the procedure to grow crops.
