The Government of Karnataka along with the Directorate of Minorities has introduced GOKDOM scholarship. It is one of the initiatives covered by GOKDOM, a Bengaluru-based agency that focuses on all challenges faced by minority groups like Christians, Buddhists, Jains, Muslims, Parsis, and Sikhs. This scholarship provides several monetary benefits, fee waivers, and allowances. GOKDOM Scholarship 2024: Application Period<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Launched in 1999-2000 by the Directorate of Backward Classes, GOKDOM\u2019s sole aim is to lift the socio-economic status of minority groups. It\u2019s responsible for the planning, coordination, evaluation, and implementation of the following key functions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  2. Education schemes for students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Schemes for women and children.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Suitable training and employment opportunities for students to tackle the issues related to economic backwardness.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Eligibility Criteria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    One of the common eligibility criteria for the GOKDOM Scholarship is that the applicant must be domiciled in Karnataka. Apart from this, all the schemes under this scholarship have their separate set of eligibility criteria. They are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship for Minorities, Karnataka<\/td>The applicant must be studying in Classes 1 – 10.

    Incentive for SSLC & 2nd PUC Students, Karnataka<\/td>The applicant must have scored more than 85% marks in their Class 10 or 12.<\/td><\/tr>

    Their annual family income of the family must not exceed INR 6 lakh.

    1. Create an account on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) by going to its official website and clicking on the “Create Account” button. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Provide your personal information, like your name, address, and email address. You will also need to create a password and select a security question.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      1. Once you have created an account, you will need to complete your profile by providing information about your education, family, and financial situation. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        1. Upload scanned copies of your required documents, such as your Aadhaar card, income certificate<\/strong>, and caste certificate<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
