Also known as Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET), Thapar University is a private deemed-to-be university<\/strong> established in 1956. A top-ranked innovation-driven institute, it offers various courses in engineering, management, science, and liberal arts.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Merit Scholarships (UG Students)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    These Thapar University scholarships are meant for first-year UG students enrolled in BE\/BTech courses. They will receive Merit Scholarships based on their All India Rank (AIR) in JEE Mains for the academic year 2024-25. Each scholarship has different eligibility criteria as shown below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Thapar University Scholarships (PG Students)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    For students seeking to pursue any type of Masters degree<\/strong>, the following Thapar University scholarships are available:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    For ME\/MTech Students:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    For MSc Students:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The students in M.Sc. programs will get 3 merit scholarships per year and program. The scholarships will cover full, half, and quarter tuition fees<\/strong> respectively, for students of the general category. The scholarships have the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • For first-year students, the scholarships will be based on their CGPA in the 1st semester. The scholarships will be given in the 2nd semester.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • For second-year students, the scholarships will be based on their AGPA in the 1st year. The eligible students should have an AGPA of at least 8.00<\/strong> and no backlog or failed courses<\/strong> in the previous semester(s).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • The scholarships will be given only<\/strong> if there are at least 5 students<\/strong> registered in a discipline.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      For MCA Students:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      MCA students will get a scholarship of INR 40,000 pa<\/strong> (10%<\/strong> of the admitted strength) in the following manner:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • In the first year, the scholarship will be given in the 2nd semester based on their CGPA in the 1st semester.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • In the next year, the scholarship will be given based on their AGPA in the previous year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • The students should have an AGPA<\/strong> of at least 8<\/strong> and no backlog or failed courses<\/strong> in the earlier semester(s) to be eligible for the scholarship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
