About Bihar Government Scholarships<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Bihar Government Scholarship schemes are meant for students who are native of the state and its permanent residents. Together with other private organizations, the Government of Bihar offers numerous scholarships to underprivileged meritorious students of Bihar. The primary aim of these scholarships is to motivate students to pursue higher education<\/strong> without any financial hurdles. Each scholarship has its own set of eligibility criteria, award amounts, and benefits for students. Let us take a look at these schemes in further detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Post-Matric Scholarship for SC Students, Bihar<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Post-Matric Scholarship for SC students is a scheme meant for students belonging to the SC category. It is provided by the Backward and Extremely Backward Class Welfare Department of the Government of Bihar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility Criteria:<\/strong> To avail of this Bihar Government scholarship, applicants must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • The applicant must be enrolled in any course from class 11 to postgraduation level.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The applicant should have cleared the previous qualifying exam. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Their annual family income should not exceed INR 2,50,000 pa<\/strong>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • They should not be receiving any other scholarship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Award\/Benefits:<\/strong> If the applicant is found eligible, they are awarded the following amount\/benefits:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • A monthly maintenance allowance of up to INR 550<\/strong> (for day scholars) and INR 1,200<\/strong> (for hostellers) for 10 months<\/strong>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • An extra allowance of up to INR 240 per month<\/strong> (for students with disabilities).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Reimbursement for the mandatory non-refundable fees. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • INR 1,600 per year<\/strong> for study tour expenses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Up to INR 1,600 <\/strong>for thesis typing and printing costs (for research scholars).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
