NCERT Class 7 Civics Chapter 1 talks about the right to equality<\/strong> in a democracy<\/strong>, especially in India. Even though our Constitution promises equality for everyone, in reality, not everyone gets the same opportunities. In the past, when we learned about equality, it mostly focused on what our Constitution says but didn\u2019t really look at how it affects people\u2019s everyday lives. This lesson takes a different approach. It shows us that there are still many unfair practices happening, affecting different groups of people. It also talks about how the government makes rules and policies to try and make things more equal. This shows us that the government is working to make sure everyone gets a fair chance. The lesson also briefly talks about a similar issue in the United States, to show that this is not just a problem in India, but something that happens in many democratic countries around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
