It begins with the dog’s search for a new master for himself as he no longer wants to wander by himself and is frightened by those more powerful than him. Firstly, he chose a wolf to be his master as he thought the latter was stronger and fierce than him. However, the dog was surprised when the wolf suddenly took off into the forest after seeing a bear. This was because the wolf was afraid of the bear.

After seeing this, the dog asked the bear to be his master as he thought that the bear was the strongest animal he knew. Later on, he saw that the bear also ran deeper into the forest after hearing cows mooing and running in all directions. Soon, the dog realized that the bear was after all not the most powerful animal.

Thereafter, the dog approached the lion to be his master as all animals in the forest were afraid of the lion. However, one day the lion also felt afraid when he smelt a human coming his way. After seeing this, the dog realized that man is the most powerful animal in the world and he should ask the man to be his master. So, the dog joined the man and became his best friend forever.

Source: Magnet Brains

Also Read: 145+ Examples of Simile for Everyday Usage

Important Words Phrases and their Meaning

Now, let us expand our vocabulary by adding some new words to our mental dictionary. It describes how exciting and colorful a new kite is when it soars in the sky. The poem talks about how the kite moves, dives, and climbs in the wind. When the wind is strong, the kite seems to rest and then continues flying when the wind picks up again.

However, the poem also warns that if the string gets loose, you have to wind it back and wait for a new breeze to lift the kite again. In the end, it emphasizes that while a new kite is bright and beautiful, it can become ragged and stuck in a tree if not flown carefully.

Source: SimplyLearn

Must Read: Difference Between Precis and Summary

Download NCERT Class 6 English Honeysuckle Unit 2 Important Questions and Answers PDF

Explore NCERT Solutions of all Poems of ‘Honeysuckle’ Here:

Unit 1

Unit 2

Unit 3

Unit 4

Unit 5

Unit 6

Unit 7

Unit 8

NCERT Solutions Class 6 English Honeysuckle Unit 2 Poem

Let us now view NCERT solutions to questions following the poem in Honeysuckle Unit 2- “The Kite”

Working with the Poem

Ques 1.
