To become an officer in the <a href=\"https:\/\/leverageedu.com\/blog\/how-to-join-indian-army\/\"><strong>Army<\/strong><\/a>, <strong>Navy<\/strong>, or <strong>Air Force<\/strong>, you have to pass the SSB interview. It&#8217;s important to understand what the SSB interview is, what sort of tasks and tests are conducted, and other details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-5-stages-of-ssb-interview\">5 Stages of SSB Interview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>What Happens in SSB Interview during all the Stages of selection. The stages of SSB Interview are: 1) Reporting Day 2. Screening 3. Psychological Tests, 4. Group Tasks, 5. Personal Interview, and 5) Final Board. During the stages, candidates will be tested on their mental abilities, problem-solving skills, communication, and leadership qualities. The final result is based on a combination of all the stages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-reporting-day\">Reporting Day<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the day when you report to the SSB board, check your documents, and fill out your PIQ forms. Report to the place mentioned in your call letter, usually MCQ [Moment Control Office]. You&#8217;ll find it easy because there are candidates reporting on the same day as you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Take note:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Some entries have the same reporting and screening day, like the AFSB interview. Check your call letters for details.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reporting day and screening [PPDT] are the same for some entries. If you report early like 0700 hours, your screening day is the same as the report date.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-stage-1-testing-screening\">Stage-1 Testing&nbsp; &#8211; Screening<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the screening process, potential candidates are selected from all those who have submitted applications for the particular position. Several activities are involved in it, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-oir-test\">OIR Test<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This test is also known as an officers&#8217; intelligence rating test, and it includes both verbal and non-verbal sections.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can check some verbal and <strong>non-verbal sample questions<\/strong> here for the OIR Test. Although it&#8217;s a basic test, you should be well prepared. PPDT will come after this test.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Related Reasoning Blog<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button has-custom-width wp-block-button__width-100 is-style-outline is-style-outline--1\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-text-color has-background wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/leverageedu.com\/discover\/indian-exams\/classification-reasoning-questions\/\" style=\"color:#0527f2;background:linear-gradient(135deg,rgb(255,245,203) 0%,rgb(182,227,212) 50%,rgba(51,168,181,0.59) 100%)\"><strong>Classification Reasoning Questions | Verbal Reasoning\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ppdt\">PPDT<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This test is also called the Picture Perception and Discussion Test.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PPDT consists of story writing and group discussions.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>During the test, you&#8217;ll be shown a picture for 30 seconds, then you&#8217;ll have 3 minutes to write a story about it, then you&#8217;ll be split up into subgroups of 14-15 people, where each candidate will tell their story and then the group will talk about the picture.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It&#8217;s PPDT that helps you clear screening and gets you to stage 2.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-results-of-screening\">Results of Screening<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Once PPDT is done, you&#8217;ll go for lunch and then rest.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The screening results are usually ready after lunch, so all the candidates will be called at once and chest numbers will be called one by one.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You&#8217;ll get some rest for 2-3 hours after PPDT, plus lunch.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your screening results will be announced after it, and selected candidates get a new chest number.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>TAS for the rest of the candidates are handed out, and they&#8217;re dropped back to the station or bus stop.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-stage-2-testing-psychological-test\">Stage-2 Testing &#8211; Psychological Test<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Each test is a projective one, which is meant to determine the candidate&#8217;s psychological suitability for an officer position. Candidates must write their responses based on the particular test. The time limit here is very important, so you must provide your first response on time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-tat-thematic-aptitude-test\">TAT: Thematic Aptitude Test<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each picture will appear for 30 seconds and disappear, after that you will have four minutes to write a story based on that picture. Using a pointer and map, one member has to explain the common planning.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-pgt-progressive-group-task\">PGT: Progressive Group Task<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ropes, planks, wood logs, etc., are used to cross obstacles. There are some rules to follow during this activity, which requires a full group effort.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-hgt-half-group-task\">HGT: Half Group Task<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s pretty much the same as PGT, but you might get a better chance to show what you&#8217;re made of since the group now consists of fewer people.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-iot-individual-obstacles-task\">IOT: Individual Obstacles Task<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ten obstacles consist of 1-10 points each, and you have to complete them all.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-command-task\">Command Task<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As a commander, you&#8217;ll have to cross some obstacles with 2-3 subordinates. From your own group, you can choose 2-3 candidates you believe can help you overcome obstacles.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-snake-race-group-obstacle-race\">Snake Race\/Group Obstacle Race:&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>During the competition, all group members will be holding snake-like ropes and must cross certain obstacles with them. Like any other task, there are rules. It&#8217;s kind of like a race between groups.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-individual-lecturette\">Individual Lecturette:&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The candidate will give a 3-minute lecture on a topic that they choose. There will be four topics, and you have to pick one.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-fgt-final-group-task\">FGT: Final Group Task<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s the same as PGT, just another chance to prove yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-personal-interview\">Personal Interview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A candidate&#8217;s SSB interview answers and questions play an important role in deciding their recommendation in SSB Interview. There&#8217;s a lot of pressure on how to handle the IO [Interviewing officer] in the SSB PI [SSB Personal Interview]. One wrong move can hurt your reputation and diminish your chances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-conference\">Conference<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference is just to decide whether we should recommend you as an officer in the Indian defence forces, so each candidate will have the opportunity to answer some general questions. You&#8217;re assessed by all of them together, but some candidates on the borderline may have certain questions that are decisive.
