In 1994, Melinda received a diagnosis of Askin&#8217;s tumour, one of the rarest blood malignancies. Following the diagnosis, Melinda&#8217;s physicians estimated that her ailment would only prolong her life for a few weeks. Melinda, who was courageous, continued to survive for six months after the prediction and used that time to cheer up and encourage everyone else who was also fighting cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She used to send them heartfelt letters and poems that made the patients happy and joyful.
