This scholarship is provided to students for some undergraduate courses both Professional and Non-Professional course subjects. These subjects include <strong>Hotel Management<\/strong><strong>,<\/strong> Journalism, Humanities, Technology, Engineering and several others. This scholarship does not apply to Medical courses.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the help of this scholarship, the student will get many benefits. This includes financial aid which covers tuition fees, admission fees and after-admission fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As mentioned above, the SPDC scholarship applies to all those candidates wishing to study undergraduate courses. The only catch is, it is available for the following Indian universities and colleges:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Central Universities Of India which offer undergraduate courses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2018A\u2019 grade institutions accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and recognized by UGC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Schools of Planning and Architecture, and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) through the DASA Scheme<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-eligibility-criteria\">Eligibility Criteria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before applying for the SPDC scholarship, the candidate needs to look into the eligibility criteria. By doing so, only the necessary people will apply for the same. Here are the criteria under which the candidates will be accepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the SPDC scholarship, it is awarded only to these two categories:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Children of Indian Workers in ECR countries &#8211; those who studied outside India and in India<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Children of NRIs\/PIOs\/OCIs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is all the necessary information about both these categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Person of Indian Origin (PIO)\/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>PIO are those citizens who come from another country other than India (except Pakistan and Bangladesh) who, at any time, had an Indian passport, or whose grandparent(s) or either of their parents was Indian citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply under this category, the candidate will have to submit proof of his\/her Indian origin. This could be a valid PIO\/OCI card.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>Non-Residents of India (NRI)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>A person is considered an NRI if they have not been resident in India in nine out<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>of ten preceding years or have not been in India for more than 730 days or more.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>(c) Indian workers in ECR countries&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All those Indians living in ECR countries (Qatar, Thailand, Malaysia and others) are required to present a valid work permit and documentation of their two-year presence in the country of residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Age<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The SPDC scholarship is open to all those candidates who belong to this age group of 17 to 21 years as of 31st July in the year to apply for SPDC.
