In 2023, ICAI observed its grand 75th anniversary under the banner &#8220;75 Years of Trust&#8221;. Here is a brief history:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The foundation of chartered accountancy as a profession in India was established in 1919 with the formation of the Institute of Accountants and Actuaries in 1919. However, due to various limitations and economic challenges in British India, the organization was shut down within a few years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>However, this profession got a new life with the establishment of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India on 1st July 1949.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ICAI was formed with the passage of the Chartered Accountants Act, of 1949.
