The SLET is conducted under the direction of the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC). The State Level Eligibility Examination is, however, conducted by the relevant state government or state agency. Several Indian states and state agencies hold the SLET at different times of the year. The actual dates and frequency of the SLET exam can differ from year to year and from state to state. The mode of examination is computer-based and is conducted at various centres across the states. The SLET cutoff is normally decided by the state government or the body that administers the exam. (SOPs).
