The Panjab University (PU) conducts its undergraduate law exams every year for admissions to their <strong>BA LLB<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/leverageedu.com\/learn\/bcom-llb\/\"><strong>BCom LLB<\/strong><\/a> programmes. This year, the exam is going to be conducted on April 30, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. The entrance exam is conducted in offline mode and consists of objective-type questions (MCQs). The exam is conducted in three languages i.e, English, Hindi and Panjabi. These reservations are provided on the following conditions:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reserved category students are given a concession of 5% in courses where minimum qualifying marks have been determined by the university.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the reserved seats remain vacant, then the university offers more relaxation in marks to admit students of the reserved category in the vacant seats.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reserved category students who migrate from their native states will avail of the reservation benefits provided by the state of Panjab, as Panjab University is located in this northern state of India.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5% of seats are reserved for people in sports that can be availed only by providing proof of achievement in sports.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button has-custom-width wp-block-button__width-100\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-cool-to-warm-spectrum-gradient-background has-background wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/leverageedu.com\/discover\/indian-exams\/law-exams\/pu-ug-law\/\"><strong>PU UG Law 2023: Pattern, Dates and More<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reservation Criteria for People with Disabilities (PWD)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be around 5% of seats available for persons with disabilities. The RPWD 2016 Act states that 1% of seats will be allocated to the following categories:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table is-style-stripes\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Categories of Disability&nbsp;<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Types of Disability&nbsp;<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Physical Disability&nbsp;<\/td><td>Dwarfism, Acid attack victims, Cerebral palsy, Leprosy cured persons, Low Vision, Blindness, Deaf, Speech Language Disability&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Intellectual Disability<\/td><td>Autism spectrum disorder and Specific learning disabilities<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Mental Behaviour Disability&nbsp;<\/td><td>Mental Illness&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Neurological Disorder&nbsp;<\/td><td>Multiple sclerosis, Blood Disorder, Sickle Cell disease, Haemophilia and&nbsp; Parkinson\u201fs disease<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reservation Criteria for Defence Category<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be around 5% seats available for the defence category people. People with the following conditions or circumstances are considered under this category:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>CAPF personnel in service.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The spouse\/ children of ex-defence personnel who lost their lives in action.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The spouse\/ children of CAPF personnel who were martyred during service.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The spouse\/ children of CAPF and defence personnel who are financially dependent on them.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reservation Criteria for Riot Victims and Dependents of Freedom Fighters<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Following people get reservations under this category:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2% of seats are reserved for children, spouses and siblings of people who lost their limbs or were killed in the 1984 riots and are considered riot victims by the Panjab Government. These people need to get a certificate from the district magistrate to prove their migration to that particular district.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2% for the children and grandchildren of people who participated in the freedom movement of 1947 are considered under this category. These eligible people must be sanctioned pensioners from the central or the state government of Panjab.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reservation Criteria for Non-Residents of India (NRI)&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The following people belong to this reserved category:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students who have received sponsorship or nomination from any foreign country, or embassy of the concerned country in India.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Self-financed students with the nationality of a foreign country or a self-financed person with foreign nationality.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Children of NRIs.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NRIs with an interest in law.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PU UG Law Reserved Seats<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Panjab University offers the seats as per the reservation criteria set by the Government of India (GOI). The 5-year integrated law courses have different seats on their respective campuses. Before the introduction of the reservation for the economically weaker sections (EWS) of the society, all the reservations or quotas for central government jobs were mainly based upon castes or tribes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some definitions of the reservations:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Other Backward Classes (OBC)<\/strong> &#8211; OBC means socially and educationally backward classes.
