This day memorialises the contributions and accomplishments of Dr Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician and the founding father of <strong>homoeopathy<\/strong>. On this global day, the homoeopathic society, the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), under the Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani and Naturopathy, Siddha, and Homoeopathy), the <strong>Government of India<\/strong> organises an event to promote the use of this treatment course for treating illnesses and leading a healthy life. Additionally, <a href=\"https:\/\/leverageedu.com\/explore\/indian-scholarships\/ayush-scholarship-scheme\/\"><strong>AYUSH also awards various scholarships to students <\/strong><\/a>enrolled in any homoeopathy institution.\u00a0In this blog, we will learn more about World Homeopathy Day history, theme, and significance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-historical-background\">Historical Background<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>World Homoeopathy Day is celebrated to honour the legacy of the founding father of homoeopathy Dr Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician. He was born on this day in 1755. He was an accomplished <a href=\"https:\/\/leverageedu.com\/blog\/branches-of-linguistics\/\"><strong>linguist,<\/strong><\/a> a commendable scientist, and an <strong>exemplary scientist.<\/strong> He has been credited with discovering homoeopathy as a way of healing illnesses. He derived a complete system of therapeutics from the Law of Similars, which is the basis of homoeopathy, and the teachings and findings of Paracelsus and Hippocrates.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Hahnemann started his journey with an understanding of the writing of William Cullen- \u2018Materia Medica\u2019. Cullen, also known as Hippocrates of Scotland completed this book in 1789 wherein he mentioned the use of Cinchona bark to get relief from intermittent fever. To realise the effects and advantages of Cinchona bark, Dr Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann started using this material on himself. After understanding the impact produced by this bark, he introduced the concept of Human Proving, on which he based subsequent therapeutics. This was just the beginning of this medicine branch. He compiled all his provings in his books from 1805 onwards.
