From using social media to attending online classes and searching for information, our personal data is constantly being shared. With growing cybercrimes, data leaks, and tracking by websites, it is essential to understand the value of internet privacy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This blog presents both short and long speech on internet privacy specially for students. But while we enjoy all this, we often forget that the internet also stores a lot of our personal information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Internet privacy means keeping our personal data safe while we use the internet. This includes our name, phone number, photos, passwords, and even what we search or watch online. If we are not careful, this information can be misused by others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you know that according to a 2024 report by Norton, more than 60% of children between 10 to 17 years old in India have shared personal information online without realizing it? This is very risky because hackers or strangers may use it in a wrong way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes, websites ask us to accept cookies or give access to our location or contacts. Many of us click \u201cyes\u201d without reading. These things track our online habits and send ads or even sell our data. In India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, was passed to protect users\u2019 data. But still, we must take steps to keep ourselves safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Internet privacy means keeping our private data safe from people who might misuse it. This includes our name, age, photos, email ID, passwords, and even what we do online. Every time we search for something, like a new game or favorite actor, that data gets stored somewhere. Companies use this data to show us ads or track our choices. But sometimes, this data is sold or stolen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A report by CyberPeace Foundation in 2025 said that cyberbullying and data theft among children increased by 35% in the last two years in India. That\u2019s a serious problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Let me give you an example. A student shared his photo and phone number on a free quiz app without asking his parents. Within a few days, he started receiving strange messages and calls. This happened because the app was not safe and his data got leaked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    That\u2019s why, even though laws like the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, have been made in India, we students must also be careful. Rules can help, but our own actions are the first step to safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
