Vikram Doraiswami, the Indian High Commissioner to the UK, officially opened the new India Visa Application Centre (IVAC) in Marylebone.

As many as 40,000 appointments are now scheduled each month due to the cooperation with VFS.

A visa at-doorstep service would also be available to tourists for a cost. Following concerns about visa delays that have forced travellers to terminate their trips.

The chance to obtain priority and super priority visa services were made available to Indian students who wanted to study abroad earlier in August.

The new centre is the third India visa centre in London.
