Appearing for IELTS speaking can give jitters to many aspirants who seek to study abroad! Learn how to overcome these common mistakes.

Mistake #1 One word answers

Speak in longer descriptive sentences on any topic.

Mistake #2 Wrong pronunciation

You should practice well before the test and only include words that you know the meaning and usage of.

Mistake #3 Being silent

You may pause for 1-2 secs before answering but if you need more time, its best to learn some fillers beforehand.

Mistake #4 Memorising answers

The best way to give answers is relax, think about the question, analyse what you want to say and then speak.

Mistake #5 Going in without practice

This can result into stuttering while answering the question. It’s always best to practice a few topics.
