Due to labour shortage, Canada has announced to temporarily lift the off-campus work hours restriction between November 15, 2022, and December 31, 2023.

As of July, Canada was looking to fill nearly one million jobs as the country’s job vacancy rate fell to 5.4% from a peak of 6% in April this year.

Currently, the post-secondary international students in Canada can work off-campus for up to 20 hours per week during school sessions.

However, this temporary measure will allow the students to work off-campus for more than 20 hours per week.

This lift will also allow the students to gain valuable work experience in Canada

Moreover, Indian students will be able to support themselves better financially as they will be able to manage higher cost of living in the country.
