WBMDFC Scholarship
To address the aspiration for education in the minority communities of West Bengal, the State Government decided to set up the “Aikyashree” -West Bengal State Scholarships for Minority Students, fully funded from the State budget program, from the financial year 2019-20 onwards. With the vision of giving minority students more avenues for socio-economic and educational mobility, it extends financial assistance and encouragement to meritorious students from minority communities. Different types of scholarships are offered by the West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation under this program.

Types of Scholarships
Here are the different types of WBMDFC Scholarship:
- Pre- matric Scholarship for meritorious students from Class-I to Class X)
- Post-matric Scholarship (for deserving students from Class-XI to PhD)

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the mentioned eligibility criteria to apply for the WBMDFC Scholarships:
Pre-Matric Scholarship
- The applicant must be a domicile in West Bengal.
- 50% marks or more (or equivalent grade) in the previous final examination.
- Currently studying in a school/ Institution recognised by an Educational Board/ Council/University of the State/ Central Government.
- The yearly family income of the applicant should not exceed Rs. 2 lakhs.
- Students in institutes outside West Bengal will not qualify for the pre-matric scholarship.
Post-Matric Scholarship
- The applicant must be a domicile in West Bengal.
- Not less than 50% marks (or equivalent grade) in the previous final examination.
- Studying in a School/ Institution recognised by an Educational Board/ Council/ University of the State/ Central Government.
- The annual income of the applicant’s family should not be more than Rs. 2 lakhs.
- Students enrolled in institutes outside West Bengal will not qualify for the post-matric scholarship.
Merit Cum- Means Scholarship
- The applicant must be a domicile in West Bengal.
- Admitted to a technical/professional course.
- At least 50% marks in the last Higher Secondary/ Graduation exam.
- The yearly income of the applicant’s family should not exceed Rs.2.5 lakhs.
- Residents of the state but pursuing studies in listed institutions outside West Bengal (as notified by the West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation from time to time) can also apply.

Talent Support Stipend
- The applicant must be a domicile in West Bengal.
- Secured admission to a technical/professional course.
- At least 50% marks in the last Higher Secondary/ Graduation examination.
- The yearly income of the applicant’s family should not exceed Rs.2.5 lakh.
- The students who are residents of West Bengal but are pursuing studies in listed institutions located outside West Bengal (as notified by the West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation from time to time) are also eligible for applying.
Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-means Scholarship
- A higher secondary student.
- Or must be under the Graduate level in Engineering, Medical and Technical / Professional courses apart from Under Graduate, Post Graduate level students pursuing General Degree courses.
- Deserving students will be sanctioned on merit-cum-means criteria.
- Students pursuing M.Phil courses and Doctoral courses from State-aided Institutions are eligible.
- Applicants must continue his/her study in educational institutions of West Bengal after passing out in the current year from the West Bengal State Board/Council of Secondary/Higher Secondary and Madrasah Education and State University.
- Students must belong to Minority Community (Muslim / Christian / Sikh / Buddhist / Parsee & Jain).
- The upper ceiling for family income has been fixed at Rs.2,50,000/- per annum.

Here are some things to know about WBMDFC Scholarship amounts:
- Admission and tuition fees are subject to variations.
- Hostellers include students not staying in the institute’s hostel but staying on rent or as paying guests.
- Maintenance allowance is payable for not more than ten months in an academic year. The entire course fee may be reimbursed for the listed institution.
