The Union Public Service Commission conducts many government examinations throughout the year. One such examination is the CAPF exam. Under this broad category, there comes a number of exams. Recently, CAPF has opened up accepting applications for CAPF-AC posts. CAPF-AC stands for Central Armed Police Force- Assistant Commandant. This exam is conducted to shortlist and select candidates for 5 different forces. The procedure, eligibility, syllabus, and selection process are the same for these 5 forces. About CAPF-AC Exam 

Earlier known as Central Paramilitary Forces, CAPF is a collective term for the central forces of the country. These forces play an important role in the internal security and border security of the country. A collection of a total of seven forces, (BSF AR, ITBP, CISF, CRPF, NSG) are responsible for the security of people all over India. To improve the international impact of these forces, in 2011 the name of this force was changed. The government dropped the word “ paramilitary” from the force. 

To keep up with the need for the forces, UPSC conducts the recruitment exams for these forces collectively. However, the exams are according to the position of the candidate in the force. 

Modes of selection of the officers-

  • Gazetted Officers- Through CAPF-AC exam by UPSC.
  • Subordinate Officers- Exam by SSC (Staff-selection committee). Commonly referred to as DASOs( Directly Appointed Subordinate Officers).
  • Constables: Exam conducted by SSC.

Exam Pattern of  CAPF-AC Exam

The candidates selected for the armed forces generally go through a lot of steps and exams. This exam pattern is generally the same every year. These steps are:

Written Exam

The first step for the selection in CAPF is the Written exam. This exam is conducted in offline mode. The exam is divided into two parts and the duration of the exam is 5Hrs. The subjects of both parts are different. The details of the exam pattern are:

Physical Test

Another important step for the shortlisting of any candidate, the physical test is important. There are different physical requirements for females and males. These are the requirements:

Interview

The final step for the selection of the candidate, interview or you can say personality round is important. The interview is only conducted to know the preference of the candidate of which force he/she wants to join. Through this round, the authorities can also check the candidate’s knowledge and personality. After the exam, the date for the interview will be announced.

As mentioned above, the candidate needs to appear for writing in two Parts-A and B. The subjects of these parts are different, thus the syllabus is very vast.

Application Process: CAPF Exam 

The application process is pretty simple and one can easily apply for this post at the comfort of his/her home online. 

These are the steps that you should follow:

Step 1 To apply for CAPF exams, you need to visit https://www.upsconline.nic.in/. When you visit this website, you can see multiple notifications on the home page.

Step 2 Just click on the notification that directs you to the application page of UPSC-CAPF. The application process is in two stages- PART A and B. 

Step 3 You will then see an application form. Make sure that you fill in all the information correctly. Avoid making any mistakes at this stage as this can create an issue in the future. 

Step 4 Upload all the scanned documents like photographs, and educational certificates in the required format and size. 

Step 5 Once you have submitted the documents, check your application form once again to avoid any errors.

Step 6 Pay the application fee of INR 200. (Note: Application fees are exempted in case you are Female/SC/ST.)

(Note: You have the option to withdraw your application in the period of 1 week in case you change your mind )

How To Get An Admit Card For CAPF Exam -2023?

The admit card for the 2023 UPSC CAPF Exam-2023, will be available on their website around July 2md week. However, to help you in future, these are some steps:

Step 1:  Go to the official website and go to the notifications section.

Step 2 : Click on the UPSC CAPF-AC exam admit card link.

Step 3: Log in with the details that you have set during the application process.

Step 4: You will now see you admit card. Download it and have a hard copy too for future use.

CAPF AC Result 2023

The result of the CAPF examination will be available on the official website. Interested candidates can apply for the CAPF examination. By entering the roll number and date of birth candidates can view the result page. Thus, a candidate can view the result of the examination

Is it difficult to clear UPSC CAPF?
