Steven Woods

Steven Woods is a prominent figure in the business, he was born on 16 June 1965 in Melfort, Saskatchewan. He is popularly known as a Canadian entrepreneur, co-founder of Quack.com, and first popular voice portal platform in the year 1998. Steven holds an M.Math and PhD degree from the University of Waterloo. He is another remarkable alumni who graduated from the University of Waterloo. He is also known as the head of engineering for Google Canada where he stayed until 2021.  

Susan Tighe

George Elliot Clarke

Born on 12 February 1960 in Canada, George Elliot Clarke is one of the greatest poets. George is another graduate from the University of Waterloo who passed with flying colours. He has served as the Poet Laureate of Toronto and the Canadian Parliamentary Poet Laureate because of his amazing works as a Canadian poet, playwright, and literary critic. He earned a bachelor’s degree major in English from the University of Waterloo in 1984. George is one of Canada’s illustrious poets chronicling the experience.

Mike Lazaridis

One of the best-known personalities across the globe, Mike Lazaridis was born on 14 March 1961. This greek-Canadian businessman founded the Blackberry which created and held the Blackberry wireless handheld device. Moreover, he is also known for investing in Quantum Computing Technologies. Lazaridis is another notable alumni who attended the University of Waterloo. The greatest achievement he made included being a chancellor of the University of Waterloo, the establishment of the Institute for Quantum Computing, and the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics.
