Admission process 

Step 1: You have to create your login id and PIN, then you’ll need to fill out your application form with your personal information, contact information, programme preferences, educational qualifications, and whether English is your first language. 

Step 2: After you’ve filled in all of your information, you have to upload your documents and personal statement. 

Within 24 hours of receiving your application, the institution will send you an email acknowledging receipt. The email will also include log-in information so that you can track the status of your application. 

Within 28 days of receiving your application, you will receive an email from the institution with one of the following decisions:

• Conditional Offer
• Unsuccessful

A personal interview may be necessary as part of the enrolment process in many programmes due to the high level of competition. These interviews are mostly used to determine a prospective student’s strengths and motivation. Students may be requested to describe why they choose a certain course, discuss their strengths and limitations, and discuss practical job experience related to the course, among other things.

Eligibility requirements 

The eligibility requirements for Undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are different. Both levels have the same English language requirement. 

English Language Proficiency Test

All overseas students applying to any programme at UWS must complete the university’s minimal English requirements, which include taking and passing one of the following exams: IELTS, TOEFL, or Duolingo. 

The minimum scores for IELTS are 6.0 Band and above. And for TOEFL it must be overall 78 at the least.

All IELTS certifications must be issued within the last two years of the applicant’s application to UWS. For some programmes, the English language score requirements may be greater.

Other requirements for undergraduate programmes:

In order to be considered for undergraduate programmes at the University of the West of Scotland, Indian students must: 

• Pass the All India Senior Secondary School with a 60% or above
• Indian School Certificate (Class 12) 60% or above

Other requirements for postgraduate programmes:

Indian students seeking postgraduate programmes must have a bachelor’s degree (a three-year course or four-year Hons. course) comparable to a British bachelor’s degree with a minimum overall score of 60%.
