However, to pursue degrees like BBA, BCA, BCom, Integrated MBA, BHM, etc form prestigious institutes, an individual needs to qualify certain exams as the universities offer limited seats. One such is the UGAT exam which is conducted to pursue such courses from a list of 50 plus educational institutes. In this blog, we will comprehensively cover the details pertaining to the exam. 

Exam Overview 

Under Graduate Aptitude Test [UGAT] is a national level examination conducted annually by All India Management Association [AIMA] in order to select students for various undergraduate courses like BBA, BCA, Integrated MBA, along with BHM course. Apart from this, the exam is also for those who want to enrol in BCom [eCommerce], BSc IT, Bachelor of Foreign Trade, Bachelor of Information Technology and Management. All those who have successfully completed their 10+2 or are appearing for it are eligible to sit for the exam. The test gives a comprehensive understanding and diverse range of options to prospective students to get adjusted in prestigious colleges and universities.

UGAT Eligibility Criteria & Fees

In order to appear for UGAT, candidates have to fulfil certain prerequisites as set by the authority. If an applicant fails to meet any of the eligibility criteria, the application might be rejected. 

  • Candidates should have qualified 10+2 with 50% marks from a recognized board. 
  • Those candidates who are waiting for their examination results are equally eligible to apply. 
  • There is no bar on age to appear for the UGAT. 

Exam Fees

  • A candidate has to pay Rs. 650 as their application fee  
  • One can submit the fee only through debit/credit card/net banking/DD 
  • Candidates can pay their application fee in the form of DD mode(Demand draft) in favour of ‘All India Management Association, payable at New Delhi. Along with Demand Draft, the candidate has to attach two self-attested slips with the application. 

Application Form

The form for UGAT 2021 will be available for candidates from the first week of January 2021. It will be available online for candidates to fill and submit. Mentioned below are the steps to be followed for application:

  • All candidates need to make payment of INR 650 and can get the application form.
  • The fees can be paid via Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card.
  • The demand draft should be drawn in the name of “All India Association Management’ payable in the city of New Delhi. Candidates must also attach two self-attested slips. 

UGAT Pattern 

In order to set your distinctive space and clear the exam by flying colours, the candidates should be well versed with the pattern, syllabus, and the topics covered in the examination. It is important to note that the pattern can vary based on the course you have applied for. For instance, there are 180 questions for the BHM course which have to be completed in 3 hours. On the contrary, for BBA/BCA course, 130 questions have to be completed in a span of 120 minutes. The tables give below cover the UGAT examination pattern for some of the courses in detail:

Note: There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers. Also, apart from the English Language, Numerical & Data Analysis, Reasoning & General Intelligence and General Knowledge, for BHM course, Service Aptitude and Scientific Aptitude will also be assessed. 

Aptitude Test Syllabus 

Candidates who will be appearing for UGAT are strictly advised to go through every topic in the syllabus. A stronghold on the concepts pertaining to different topics will help in scoring well. As discussed, the UGAT is divided into four different sections namely, English Language, Reasoning & General Intelligence, Numerical & Data Analysis, and Basic General Knowledge. Examination Centres 

The main examination centers for the AIMA UGAT exam span over 22 different cities of the country. Candidates are advised to reach their designated centers 90 minutes before the commencement of the examination.

UGAT 2021 Admit Card 

The admit card for the UGAT 2021 can be downloaded from the official website. All information related to the candidate’s name, Form No., Roll No., venue of the test and the test date is contained in the Admit Card. It is advised to all students and candidates that they should bring the valid UGAT 2021 Admit Card to the venue of the examination. 

The UGAT 2021 Admit Card can be downloaded by following the simple steps mentioned below:

  • Go on the official website of AIMA
  • Fill in the UGAT Registration Form Number and then access the individual admit card
  • You can take a print out of your admit card which has the details of your test centre address and test instructions.

It is advised to students to affix two of their photographs which are similar to the one they have uploaded on the application form. Get your photographs attested by a Gazetted Officer or from the Head of the Institute where the student is studying.

UGAT 2021 Counselling

Once the candidate has cleared the entrance examination, he/she has to be present for the counselling session which is organised by many institutions. In order to get the seat allocated to you, you must be present there physically and on time. The following documents are required at the time of counselling for the purpose of verification:

  • Transfer Certificate/ School Leaving Certificate
  • Marksheet of Class 10th and 12th
  • Migration Certificate
  • Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • Admit Card of UGAT 2021
  • For verification of age Class X mark sheet
  • Caste Certificate (If applicable)
  • For SC/ST/OBC an Income Certificate
  • Four passport-sized photographs
  • Photocopies of all documents. They should be self-attested

How do I fill the UGAT form?

To fill the form, visit the official website of AIMA and click on “Testing” where you will find details on UGAT. Then, click on the “Online Registration”, fill the form, upload image and documents, pay the fee, and take a print out of fee receipt.

How to get the Score Card?

To get the UGAT scorecard, you need to visit the website in the last week on the test month. Log in using your registration and roll number and then download the card.
