The U15 group of Canadian Research Universities is an association of 15 public universities specialising in research programs. These universities are also referred to as Regroupement des universities de recherche du Canada commonly known as U15. The headquarter is located in Ottawa and was established in 1991. It started with a representation of the interests of the members (provincial, and federal governments), and their concerns with affiliated research enterprises and research programs supporting research and development.
