Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who are aspiring to take the TNTET 2021 examination should be aware of the eligibility criteria set by the conducting board of the state. In order to take the exam, the candidates should satisfy the prerequisites so as to avoid the cancellation of candidature. Tabulated below is the paper-wise breakup of the minimum qualifications needed: 

Paper-I (class 1 to 5) Paper-II (class 6 to 8)
The candidate must have completed higher secondary school with a minimum of 50% and must have qualified/appeared in the final year of the two-year Diploma in Elementary Education or equivalent.

OR

The candidate must have passed higher secondary school with a minimum of 45% and should have qualified or appeared in the final year of the two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (as per the NCTE Regulations, 2002)

OR

The candidate must have passed standard 12th with a minimum of 50% and should have qualified or appeared in the 4th year of their Bachelor of Elementary Education (B. El, Ed.) or Bachelor of Education (BEd).

OR

The candidate must have passed class 12th with a minimum of 50% and must have qualified or appeared in the final year of the two-year Diploma in Special Education.

The candidate must hold a graduation degree and should have qualified or appeared in the final year of the two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

OR

The candidate must have graduated with a minimum of 50% or appeared in the final year of Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Education (Special Education) or Bachelor of Elementary Education courses.

OR

The candidate must have qualified with at least 45% marks or appeared in the final year of B.Ed in accordance with NCTE Regulations. 

OR

The candidate must have completed their higher secondary level of education, scoring at least 50% and should have qualified or appeared in the final year of either BSc/BA Ed or BSc Ed or BA Ed.

OR

The candidate who is pursuing or qualified for any teaching or education course specified by NCTE is eligible to apply for TN TET.

TNTET: Exam Pattern

How to Apply for TNTET?

Similar to the process followed in MAHA TET, Assam TET, CTET, and UPTET, the application procedure has been given a rundown below:

  • Step 1: Visit the official website of the teacher recruitment board of Tamilnadu. 
  • Step 2: On its home page select the option for TNTET 2021.
  • Step 3: Start by feeling in all the important details in the application form such as name, gender, religion, date of birth, email id or mobile number, etc. 
  • As you complete step 3 a unique ID, as well as password, will be generated through which you will be communicated the result of the exam. So, make sure that you keep your user ID as well as password handy. 
  • Step 4:  Upload your passport size photograph along with a scanned copy of the signature and other specific documents as stated in the application form
  • Step 5: It is the final step where candidates are asked to make the due payment through online mode.

Note: Candidates must know that they have to submit separate application forms for paper 1 and Paper 2.

Application Fee 

The application fee for the TNTET 2021 differs as per the category you belong to. For candidates belonging to general category, fee per application form is Rs. 500. On the other hand,for those who belong to reserved categories, the application form costs Rs. 250.
