What is the TET Exam?

The exam is divided into two parts i.e., Paper 1 and Paper 2. Applicants who qualify paper 1 will get to be a teacher for the primary level classes (1-5). On the other hand, the ones who clear paper 2 along with paper 1 will get to be a teacher of upper primary classes i.e., 6th-10th.

Eligibility Criteria

To appear in the exam, aspirants must meet the entry requisites of both the papers, i.e, 1 and 2. The candidates failing to match the set criteria for each exam will not be allowed to appear for it. Applicants must keep in mind that the set minimum age for appearing in the exam is 18 years whereas the maximum age limit is 53 years. The authorities hold the power to cancel the candidature of students if found any discrepancy. Let’s take a look at the eligibility criteria of both the TET 2021 papers:

TET Exam 2021Paper 1 

  • Applicants must have at least 50% in class 12th and Candidates should have appeared in the final year of 2-year diploma in elementary education or
  • Candidates must have qualified class 12th with at least 45% and appeared or passed the final year of 2-year diploma in elementary education as per the NCTE Regulations 2002 or
  • Applicants must have at least 50% in class 12th and passed or appeared of the final year in the 4-year bachelor degree in elementary education or
  • Those who have pursued graduation along with qualifying or appearing in the final year of the 2-year diploma in elementary education or
  • Candidates must have completed graduation along with appearing in the final year of the 2-year diploma in elementary education 

TET Exam 2021Paper 2

  • Students must be a graduate or appearing in the final year of the 2-year diploma in elementary education or
  • Candidates with graduation score at least 50% with appearing or passed for the 1-year bachelor in education or
  • Applicants must have completed the graduation with a minimum of 45% and qualified or appearing in the 1-year bachelor of education according to the NCTE regulations or
  • Applicants must have at least 50% in class 12th and passed or appeared of the final year in the 4-year bachelor degree in elementary education or
  • Students having at least 50% in class 12th and passed or appeared in the final year of the 4-year program like BA/BSc.ED or BA.Ed/BSc.Ed or
  • Candidates with graduation score at least 50% with appearing or passed for the 1-year BEd (Special Education)

Documents Required for TET Exam 2021

Exam Pattern for 2021

The exam is divided into 2 papers and qualifying for both the exams is necessary for the aspirants. Collectively both the papers will have 150 multiple type questions each which the students have to solve in 2 hours and 30 minutes (for each paper). Candidates will be provided four options for every question within which they can select the appropriate answer. For every correct answer, candidates will get 1 mark each whereas there will be no negative marking for the incorrect answers. TET Exam Score Validity 2021

The scorecard of your TET exam will be valid for 5 years. But if you qualify for the CTET exam, it stands valid for a period of 7 years through which you can apply to any of the state-level government teaching jobs.
