1947- Standardised time measurement system
On September 1, India set IST as the official time for the whole country. India is five and a half hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time and also does not observe Daylight Saving Time.

1956 –  LIC established 
LIC was established on this day in history after the Life Insurance of India Act was passed in parliament.

1752- Liberty Bell arrives
On this day, Liberty bell arrived in Philadelphia. Liberty bell became a symbol to end slavery. The American Women’s Suffrage movement also adopted the bell in their push for voting rights.
