Santoor Scholarship

The Santoor Scholarship is an initiative by Wipro Consumer and Wipro Cares. The Scholarship intends to financially support girls who belong to the economically weaker sections, who want to pursue further studies after graduating from high school. This scholarship focuses on empowering the weaker sections of society and also focuses on women empowerment. An Overview of Santoor Scholarship

The scholarship was launched in 2016, and it benefits around 900 girls every year. The Santoor Scholarship is offered across the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana. The Scholarship is only offered to girls who belong to these states and are planning to pursue their bachelor’s degree in any fields such as Social Science, Science and Commerce.  Over the last three years the scholarship has benefited over 2700 students and have been given the necessary monetary support. The Scholarship covers the tuition fees and offers a sum of 24000 INR per annum till they complete their degree, which also covers other incidental expenses at times.

Eligibility

The scholarship aims to uplift girl students of underprivileged and disadvantaged sections of the society, here are the eligibility criteria of the Santoor Scholarship:

• The scholarship is offered only to the residents of either Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh or Telangana.
• The Scholarship is offered to the girl students must have cleared their 12th standard from a government school.
• Students who belong to backward districts are given preference over students belonging to developed cities and towns.
• The Candidates should have enrolled themselves in a three-year degree/full-time course in any of the government recognized colleges in India. 
• The selection is based on merit as well as the economic condition of the candidate.

Benefits

The scholarship recipients will receive INR 24,000 annually until the programme is finished. This money can be used for tuition or other relevant educational expenses.

Required Documents

Here is a list of required documents for applying to this Scholarship:

• Recent passport-size photograph
• Photocopy of applicant’s passbook (other than Gramin Bank)
• Photocopy of Aadhaar Card
• Photocopy of class 10 certificate
• Photocopy of class 12 certificate
• Current year admission proof (fee receipt/admission letter/institution identity card/bonafide certificate)

The selection procedure is conducted by Wipro Care and the decision is entirely in the hands of the committee appointed by Wipro Care. They have the right to select and reject any application since it is a private scholarship funded by a multinational corporation.

• For girls students who desire to pursue higher education after the 12th grade in any discipline for a minimum of three years, this page is for applying for a grant under the “SANTOOR SCHOLARSHIP” programme for the academic year 2022–2023 only.
• Qualification Standards: Students from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh are the only ones eligible for the Santoor Scholarship programme. Application eligibility requirements include:
• successfully completed Class 10 at a local government school.
• the academic year 2021–2022 saw the completion of Class 12 at a government school or junior college.
• commencing in 2022–2023, enrolled full-time in a graduate programme.
• Any application that does not adhere to the requirements is likely to be turned down.
• Wipro Cares reserves the exclusive right to make the scholarship offer and the right to alter, reject, withdraw, or stop it at any time without providing a justification. The Santoor Scholarship may not be offered by any other entity or agency.
