RRB JE Syllabus

Every year, thousands of engineering graduates are recruited by the Railway Recruitment Board of India. To ensure a meticulous screening process, the Railway Recruitment Board opens the vacancies for the posts of Junior Engineer, Junior Engineer in IT, Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant as well as Depot Material Superintendent in Indian Railways through RRB JE Exam. This exam is organised in an online mode and the applications are generally opened in the first week of January every year. Overview

Conducted as an online test where candidates are provided with computer systems in the exam centre, the RRB JE Exam comprises of two stages:

  • Computer Based Test- 1 (CBT-1)
  • Computer Based Test- 2 (CBT-2)

Further, RRB JE syllabus is different for both these stages as the first one comprises of non-technical subjects including General Science, General Awareness and Aptitude whereas the second one consists of technical questions from Engineering- related disciplines. Both these tests are constituted of MCQs type questions. Moreover, every question carries one mark and for every wrong answer, 1/3rd of the total marks get deducted.

RRB JE CBT-1

CBT-1 contains 100 MCQs having one mark each which need to be answered in 90 minutes. The following table elucidates the section-wise cutoff for the RRB JE syllabus for the stage 1:

RRB JE CBT-2
