About Post Matric Scholarship Scheme

The Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India launched the Post Matric Scholarship which is a centrally sponsored scheme implemented through the state government and UT administration. It is provided to those Indian students who want to pursue higher education but need financial assistance. Students applying for secondary education, undergraduate, postgraduate and master’s degree programs in Indian government colleges can avail this scholarship. The scholarship is offered by various state governments and educational organisations to provide financial support to those aspiring to study in Indian academic institutions.

Eligibility Criteria

Before making your application for this scholarship, you are required to fulfil certain essentials to be deemed eligible by the specific institution. Here are the major eligibility criteria you need to keep in mind:

  • The scholarship is only applicable to citizens of India.
  • This is a scholarship program which aids the minority section of the society. Thus, students belonging to the minority communities, i.e. Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi are eligible to apply for the scholarship program.
  • Students who have secured an aggregate of 50% in the previous examinations can apply for the scholarship.
  • The annual household income of students’ parents/ guardians can not exceed INR 8 Lakh.
  • Candidates are required to have a bank account by their name in a nationalised bank.

Application Process

Follow the below steps to fill up the online application form of SC Post Matric Scholarship Scheme 2022:

  • Visit the official website
  • Tap on the new registration option
  • Tick the declaration after reading all the rules and regulations
  • Click on continue
  • A new form will appear before you
  • Add all your credentials such as name, DOB, mobile number, gender, etc
  • Tap on register
  • Now, login from your Student ID
  • Tap on the application form icon
  • Select the scholarship category
  • Enter the information on the form such as name, DOB, Father’s name, Aadhar Card Number, Mobile no., etc.
  • After filling up, tap on save and continue
  • Upload all the required documents
  • Click on final submission

Post Matric Scholarship Amount

  • Full-Tuition Fees (including non-refundable charges): INR 2 Lakhs per annum for students studying in private sector institutions and INR 3.72 Lakhs per annum for private sector flying club.
  • Living Expenses: INR 3,000 per month per student
  • Books and Stationary: INR 5,000 per annum per student
  • For Computer/Laptop: INR 4,500 one time assistance

Note: This SC Scholarship will be funded by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The central government will pay tuition fees and non-refundable charges directly to the institution via DBT, and other expenses will be paid straight into the student’s bank account via DBT.

Important Provisions Under Post Matric Scholarship

  • All institutions must include the SC Post Matric Scholarship 2022 silent characteristics in their prospectus.
  • The central government is planning to operate entirely online.
  • This online platform will check for eligibility, caste status, Aadhaar verification, and timely delivery of support.
  • Students can apply for scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal.
  • The applications will be verified by the institutes on the NSP portal.
  • All institutions must adhere to the number of slots allotted to them.
  • The new members will be chosen based on their performance in the admission exams.
  • Before sending it to the ministry, the institution should double-check all of the facts.
  • In the first year, students must purchase a computer or laptop.
  • When applying for the award, students must produce a bill of purchase.
  • If any institution is found to be in violation of the scheme’s provisions, it will be denotified.
  • If an institution de-notifies, the scholarship will be available to SC students who have already been admitted under this scheme until the end of the term.
