What is the PhD in Biochemistry?

A PhD in Biochemistry is a course that studies living organisms on a molecular level. It involves a deep study of biomolecules. Also, PhD in Biochemistry is a research-based course. The degree incorporates various fields such as forensics, genetics, plant science, medicine, microbiology etc. 

Eligibility Criteria

The number of seats in a PhD degree program is very limited and different universities have different specific criteria for admission that has to be met by the candidates. The basic eligibility requirements for a PhD Biochemistry are given below-

• Candidates willing to pursue a PhD in Biochemistry and related courses must have a master’s degree in Biochemistry or its specialization or M.Phil in Biochemistry. The related aggregate should be a minimum of 55%  
• Candidates with a master’s degree in Pharmacy or Technology,  bachelor’s degree of more than 4 years ( MBBS, BDS etc) are also eligible. 
• Marks scored by the candidate in related entrance examinations such as GATE, UGC-NET, CSIR-UGC-NET, etc are also considered. 
• Some colleges also take personal interviews and written tests in shortlisting the candidates.
