Students will take units in research methods and biostatistics, as well as clinical units that cover topics like the interfaces between endodontics and orthodontics, implants and periodontics, treatment of younger and older patients, and comprehensive patient care, the worn dentition, and endodontic microbial implications. FAQs

In dentistry, what is endodontics?

An endodontist is a dental expert with advanced training. Endodontists specialize in treating complex tooth disorders that primarily affect the pulp of the tooth (the inside of teeth). They treat the tooth pulp and root tissues with modern procedures.

When it comes to endodontics and periodontics, what’s the difference?

Periodontists are experts in gum health and the treatment of gum disease and inflammation. Endodontists, on the other hand, are experts on tooth roots and mouth pain. The most common reason patients are referred to them is for a difficult root canal.

What makes an endodontist different from a dentist?

Both endodontists and general dentists provide dental care, although they specialize in distinct areas. An endodontist is a dentist who specializes in root canals. While a dentist can clean teeth, fix cavities, and apply sealants, endodontists specialize in one thing: treating tooth pain.
