“We used to look up at the sky and wonder at our place in the stars, now we just look down and worry about our place in the dirt.”
Another movie by Christopher Nolan, interstellar is considered one of the greatest scientific movies of all time. It is a simple, yet complex story which requires you to watch closely. The storyline begins with widespread famine and the depletion of resources that force scientists to find a new planet. Despite its irrational narration, the movie fits well in the current world which is struck by climate change, hunger, and environmental issues. The protagonist- Cooper (Matthew McConaughey) is a former NASA pilot, and now a farmer who lives with his family in a distant land and is internally enraged by the alert situation. He then takes it upon himself to change the dire situation and carries out his mission in space. The wisdom behind the portrayal of Coop in such a fictional manner is to alert and inspire young minds who have big dreams. The entire journey of Coop is an emotional ride of love and achieving dreams. Coop had to decide whether he should give up on everything that defines him in his life which were his personal history, his loved ones, and the planet itself; or take the daring mission of saving lives. Coop is an important personality among the movie characters with amazing careers who conveys an eye-opening message through this space-epic.
