Conducted by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination, MAHA TET is a state-level entry examination for candidates who are willing to convert their passion for teaching into a whole-time profession! TET, which is also known as the Teacher Eligibility Exam is a gateway to convert your career aspiration into success and getting placed into the prestigious government job as a teacher. MAHA TET aims to gauge the skills of young individuals through two parts i.e., Paper 1 and Paper 2 on qualifying which, the students can enter at varying levels as a full-time teachers. What is MAHA TET?

MAHA TET is an eligibility test for teachers who want to teach in the schools of Maharashtra. It is conducted by the Maharashtra State Council of examination at the state level. The candidates who pass the test are recruited in the schools of Maharashtra. This test is conducted on 2 levels – the primary (paper – I) for teaching 1st – 5th classes and the upper primary (paper –II) for teaching 6th – 8th classes. Those who want to teach from 1st – 8th class have to give both papers to be eligible to teach all these classes.

Entry Requisites for MAHA TET

To appear in the exam, candidates must fulfil the set criterion of eligibility as prescribed by the official body conducting the exam. Failing this, the applicants would not be allowed to sit in the examination. Also, candidates must keep in mind that the conducting authorities hold the power to cancel the candidature of the applicants if any discrepancy is detected. Following are the entry essentials of the MAHA TET exam:

  • The candidate must be a native citizen of Maharashtra 
  • Applicants having academic and professional qualifications as specified by the Government of Maharashtra Resolution can apply. 
  • Candidates pursuing a teacher education course as directed by the Government of Maharashtra Resolution are eligible. 

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria is also important to consider before applying for the exam so here are the eligibility requirements –

  • There is no age limit for the exam and no bar on the number of attempts. You can try again to improve your scores.

For Primary (paper – I)

 For upper primary (paper – II) or both papers

  • The candidate should have a class 10 and a graduation degree with at least 50% marks in both.
  • The candidate should also have a (B. Ed) Bachelor of Education or a (D. Ed) Diploma in Education with 50% aggregate marks.

Registration Process and ID Regeneration

  • Make registration through the “New registration” link.
  • Fill in the details asked for.
  • Then Submit the form and note down the registration ID and password that is generated by the system. 
  • Now use this registered ID and password to log in to the student portal for other things like application form and admit card.
  • If you have forgotten your password then check your email id and phone number which you registered for the id and password, and If you cannot remember it still you can go on the “forgot password” link and you can reset your password through your registered id.
  • If you cannot remember anything then you can re – register on the official website.

Selection Process for MAHA TET

For you to be selected you have to go through a few steps –

  • First you need to fill the application form and submit it with application fees.
  • Then you will be issued an admit card for your exam which will contain all the details.
  • Then you have to give the MAHA TET 2021 exam properly.
  • The results are declared and you have to get at least 60% aggregate in the exam to pass it.

Then the candidates who have passed will be given a certificate in a few weeks which is used to apply for the post of teacher in the Maharashtra schools.

Admit Card

The admit card or the exam hall ticket is very important when giving any exam. It has all the important details like roll number, name, paper codes etc. which you will need to fill in your answer sheet. Without the admit card no one is allowed inside the examination center. You will get the admit card online and you can download it from the official website by login in with your registered email id and password. Keep the admit card safely after downloading because it is important and you will need it during the exam.

MAHA TET Exam Pattern

The MAHA TET test is divided into two parts and separate examinations are held for both the levels. Through paper 1, candidates can enter the profile of a primary teacher for classes 1-5 whereas after qualifying paper 2 the aspirant will join as a teacher for upper primary classes (6-10). The exam pattern and syllabus for both the papers are distinct and has been tabulated below:

Result and Cut Off

The date of the result will be announced on the official website and even the result will also be declared online on the site. You can log in with your email id and password to get the scorecard. Those who have passed will be given the rank card which will have all the information about their percentage, qualifying status and regarding the counseling round and dates etc. Those who have passed will have their name on the cut off merit list which is released on the official website. If you have passed then only you will be invited for the counseling sessions.

Certificate

The candidates who qualify for the MAHA TET exam are awarded the certificate in a few weeks after the results. The TET certificate will be awarded by the authorities online on the official website itself. The candidates can download it from the official website. It is valid for 7 years after the date of issuance and can be used for getting a job at schools in Maharashtra.
