Started in 1999, Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is a national level fellowship scheme funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. It aims at encouraging students to take up research as a career in the field of Sciences. KVPY exam is conducted in three different streams namely SX, SA, and SB which includes questions from Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. KVPY exams are usually held in the month of November every year held by prestigious IISc Bangalore. Check out this blog to know the detailed syllabus of KVPY fellowship!

KVPY Syllabus – Fellowship Information
The KVPY or Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana is a national fellowship program for students pursuing their studies in the basic sciences. This fellowship, which is run by the Indian Institute of Science and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, aims to identify and encourage talented students to pursue their research careers in the field of science. The selection process of the KVPY fellowship consists of an aptitude test and an interview, the combined marks of which are used to select successful candidates for the fellowship. Selected candidates are provided generous fellowship amounts till the pre-Phd level of study.
FAQs
Answer) Candidates can apply for the KVPY fellowship only through the online mode. Applications made on hard copy are not accepted.
Answer) The KVPY aptitude test is divided into 3 streams – Stream SA (for students enrolled in the 11th standard), Stream SX (for students enrolled in the 12th standard) and Stream SB (for students enrolled in the first year of any undergraduate course in science).
Answer) The KVPY aptitude test is held in the CBT (computer based test) mode.
Answer) No, you cannot avail the KVPY fellowship simultaneously with any other scholarship. If you are already availing another fellowship, you need to relinquish it in order to be eligible to avail this fellowship.
