When IELTS Results Will Be Out?
Here is the timeline for receiving your test scores for IELTS. For the paper-based test, the candidate can receive the result within 13 days after completing your IELTS. For the computer-delivered IELTS, you can get your results within 3 to 5 days after your test date. While for IELTS for Life Skills, students can get their results within 7 days after the test date.
How to Calculate IELTS Score?
The IELTS scores are a culmination of all the sections. To assess your scores, you need to take out an average of your marks in every section of the IELTS exam, that is, Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The IELTS score is from 1 to 9 for each part of the test. The average produces your overall band score. Students are either score whole (e.g., 5.0, 6.0, 7.0) or half (e.g., 5.5, 6.5, 7.5) bands in each part of the test.

Provisional Online Result
Your provisional online IELTS result shall be available after 13 days from the date of the test.t IELTS management won’t consider the provisional online screenshots or printed copies as authentic. However, candidates are advised to wait for the provisional results, which will be available after 28 days of the test. Your test report format (TRF) will be mailed to you to check the formal and authentic scores.
IELTS Results through SMS (Short Mail Service)

TRF (Test Report Form)
Basically, there are two main types of test report forms, Personal Test Report Form and Institutional Test Report Form. Let’s understand them.
|Personal Test Report Form||It is advisable for IELTS candidates to keep a copy of the personal test report form in safe hands. You won’t be able to get another. Your TRF scorecard will be mailed by postal service.
It may take up to 10-12 days from the date of the result to get your TRF handy. Once the mail is out for delivery, you are going to receive a tracking reference number for future correspondence.
|Institutional Test Report Form||If you wish to send your IELTS results and score directly to your preferred college or university, you can choose this route. You are advised to fill additional test report forms with the proper address of the correspondence of educational institutions.
You have the option for paid service too where you can send your additional reports to your desired colleges or universities. It can be sent through e-mail, international courier service, or by manual postal service.
How Long are IELTS Results & Score Valid For?
IELTS results and scores are only valid for a period of two years. Generally, academic institutions don’t accept scores that are more than two years old unless the candidate proves that they have actively worked towards improving or maintaining their scores.
Remark Process for IELTS: Enquiry on Results
All candidates who wish to apply for remarking are required to submit an EOR application, through their login ID. Candidates have to fill out an online form and are required to pay a fee, if their score is changed to a higher band then they are refunded the entire amount. Here are charges for EOR application, inclusive of all taxes:

- Computer Delivered IELTS – INR 11,025
- UKVI IELTS – INR 11,325

How to Send IELTS Scores to Universities?
IELTS allows students to send scores directly to as many universities as they wish. Students must register all the universities they wish to send their IELTS scores to at the time of registration.

IELTS score requirements for different countries differ based on the migration requirements and policies of every country. For instance, in the USA, the minimum IELTS score required is a band of 7 while in Canada, the minimum score for IELTS is 6 to 6.5 band for admissions and migration. EOR stands for Enquiry on Result and is for those who want to get their IELTS exam remarked. You can download the EOR form from the British Council’s website and submit 6,500 INR (for test dates after August 2019) and get your IELTS exam remarked.
Identification Document number corresponds to the ID number you used on the exam day. The ID number is usually the candidate’s passport number or any other ID number of the document they provided on the exam day.
