IBPS PO Exam: Eligibility Criteria
In order to appear for the IBPS PO exam, you need to fulfil the following conditions.
Nationality | Citizen of India/subject of Nepal/ subject of Bhutan/ Tibetan Refugee who migrated to India before Jan 1st, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India/ Person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India |
Age | Minimum: 20 years to a maximum of 30 years
Age Relaxations: Persons with Benchmark Disabilities under the “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016”: 10 years Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned Officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs)/ Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within 1 year from the last date of receipt of application) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or physical disability attributable to military service or invalidment: 5 years Persons ordinarily domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989: 5 years Persons affected by 1984 riots: 5 years |
Education | At least a Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a university recognised by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. Interview: Carries 100 marks and is conducted at select centres. At this stage, candidates are also required to present a list of documents mentioned here.
Application Process
The process of application is completely online and candidates need to follow certain steps to be considered for the IBPS PO examination.
- Log on to the official website of IBPS, i.e, www.ibps.in. Then, clicking on the ‘Home Page’, you will be able to open the ‘CRP PO/MT’ link after which you need to click on link “CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CRP-11PROBATIONARY OFFICERS/ MANAGEMENT TRAINEES (CRP-PO/MT-IX)” to finally open your application form.
- Register as a new applicant and generate your provisional registration number and password. These details will also be sent via email and SMS but note them down to be on the safer side.
- Upload Scanned copies of Photograph, Signature, Left Thumb Impression and Hand-written Declaration Image [more on this in the next section]
- Click on ‘Final Submit’ after personally checking all the entered information and pay the applicable fees/charges.
- An e-receipt will be generated. Take printout of both the e-receipt as well as the application form.
- Take great attention while entering details in the online application form such as Name, Birth Date, Address, Category, Contact Number, Email ID, Preferred Centre, Registration of preferences of participating organisations as these can not be edited subsequently.
