Scholarships are known to be instruments of encouragement towards education and research for students. There are times when students cannot afford higher quality education in recognized institutions even though they are extremely talented and intelligent. This blog will give you all the required information about this scholarship.
Understanding the GP Birla Scholarship
The GP Birla Educational Foundation was established to carry forward the treasured dream of Late Shri G. P. Birla, the renowned industrialist and philanthropist. It was his dream to promote education, build human resources and empower the youth of the country. With this vision, the Trust proposes to grant GP Birla Scholarship to an exemplary student from West Bengal who has secured 80% marks or more from State Board or 85% or more from Central Board in class 12th examination. Moreover, this scholarship is only for those students whose annual family income is less than 3 lakh and wish to avail for financial help to pursue higher education from a recognized University of India.
The scholarship amount will cover tuition fee and hostel fee (wherever applicable), subject to a ceiling of ₹50,000/- per student per year. Every year, the scholarship is granted to 100 selected students for a duration of one year and the same continues if the student displays satisfactory performance in the preceding year (as evaluated by the Trust) up to the completion of the course, subject to a ceiling of 4 years. The intention of the financial support provided by the GP Birla Education Foundation is to encourage students to become future leaders of the country.
