Engineering Eligibility

The following criteria determine whether or not a student is eligible for a BTech course.

  • Candidates must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examinations from a recognized educational board, such as CBSE, ICSE, or others.
  • Candidates must have at least a 60 percent average in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • Students who are SC/ST are eligible for a 5% reduction in aggregate and qualifying marks.
  • Candidates must pass JEE Mains or another equivalent entrance examination in order to be considered for admission.

JEE Mains (Joint Entrance Examination)

Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), JEE Mains is one of the most popular engineering entrance exams in India. It is conducted twice a year in the months of January and April and is the pathway to an array of leading institutes of the country. It is a common qualifying exam for both BTech and Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) aspirants. It is a computer-based test containing multiple-choice questions (MCQ) which students have to solve in a duration of 3 hours. By grabbing a good score in this exam, you can target different institutions like IITs, NITs etc. 

JEE Advanced (Joint Entrance Examination) 

If you are passionate about attaining quality education from the most prominent technical institutes in India i.e., IITs, qualifying the JEE Advanced examination is the final step towards your career aspirations. Considered as one of the toughest exams in India, it is conducted by the seven zonal IITs. The cumulative score of both Mains and Advanced engineering entrance exams is the final parameter for admissions into the varied programs of IITs. BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test)

VITEEE (Vellore Institute of Technology  Engineering Entrance Exam)

To get admission into a variety of engineering branches at the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), out of the long list of the engineering entrance exams you need to clear the VITEEE. Being a university level examination, candidates get evaluated on the topics like Physics, English, Chemistry, Aptitude and Maths/Biology. After qualifying the exam with flying colours, applicants can opt to study at the Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal or Amravati campuses. Candidates will be expected to solve 125 questions in 2 hours and 30 minutes. It is comparatively easier to score well for this exam as there is no negative marking for the incorrect answers.

SRMJEEE (Sri Ramaswami Memorial Joint Entrance Exam)

Do you want to study at the reputable campuses of the SRM University spread across the country, SRMJEEE is the essential exam you need to qualify. Yearly, SRJMJEE is conducted by the university to shortlist the best potential candidates for a multitude of undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programs. 105 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) must be solved in a duration of 150 minutes to get a seat in this notable university. 

COMEDK UGET (Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Undergraduate Entrance Test)

COMEDK UGET is a state-level entrance exam that is a gateway to a majority of institutions affiliated with COMEDK. The applicants wanting to pursue either  Engineering or Medical courses in prestigious universities of Karnataka can go for this examination. Just like the aforementioned engineering entrance exams, COMDEK UGET will be conducted online containing 180 questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, which the candidates have to complete in 3 hours.

MET (Manipal Entrance Test)

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (previously known as Manipal University) is in charge of conducting the institute’s annual online entrance examination. The Manipal Entrance Test (MET), formerly known as the MU OET, is a University-level examination that attracts over 50,000 applicants each year. Admission to 16 engineering courses is available through MU OET and is open to all qualified applicants. The entrance exam lasts 150 minutes and is administered online. The questions are objective multiple-choice, and applicants must pass this exam to be admitted to the institute.

KIITEE (Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology)

KIITEE is administered by the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology. The examination is held annually to select eligible applicants for admission to the institute’s four-year B.Tech programmes. KIITEE is an online exam with three sections: physics, chemistry, and mathematics. Applicants must obtain the qualifying marks in order to be admitted. There are approximately 60 exam centres available for KIITEE applicants.

SITEEE (Symbiosis Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination)

Symbiosis Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (SITEEE) Symbiosis Institute of Technology conducts an annual engineering entrance examination (SIT). Applicants who qualify for SITEEE will be admitted to the institute. Applicants who have passed the JEE Main and MHT CET are also eligible for admission. The University level entrance exam admits qualified applicants to one of the 420 available B.Tech seats. The entrance exam consists of 100 questions with a total of 200 points. SITEEE has a running time of 150 minutes.

AMUEEE (Aligarh Muslim University)

AMUEEE is a University-level entrance examination held by Aligarh Muslim University for admissions to B.Tech programmes. Admission is granted to eligible applicants based on their merit and rank in the entrance exam. AMUEEE lasts three hours and consists of 150 questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. All of the questions are objective in nature.

MHT CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test)

The MHT CET 2022 or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test will be held in Mumbai by the State Common Entrance Test Cell for admissions to first-year BE/BTech courses in Maharashtra. It will be a pen-and-paper engineering entrance exam. Every year, approximately 4 lakh students take the MHT CET. Class 12 students from Maharashtra will be eligible to apply for the MHT CET 2022. To prepare for the MHT CET, candidates must complete the Maha HSC syllabus.

AP EAMCET (Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture, Medical Common Entrance Test)

The Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Entrance Test- AP EAMCET will be conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada for admissions to Agriculture, Engineering, and Medical courses offered by various institutes. This three-hour online test assesses candidates’ knowledge of physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
