Ogburn and Nimkoff

Ogburn and Nimkoff, sociologists who classified functions of family mainly into six types:

K. Davis

K. Davis argued that the functions of the family are Reproduction, Maintenance, Placement and Socialization of the young. 

Goode

Goode argued that the functions of family can be divided into five different broad functions:
