This fee is higher for those who want to major in fields like Engineering, Medicine, Veterinary Science, Dentistry, etc. and have to pay approximately NZ$ 25,000 to 75,000 (INR 11 lakhs to 35 lakhs) per year.

  • Tuition Fees For Postgraduate Programs 

The cost of studying in New Zealand for graduates is somewhat more expensive than the cost of studying undergraduate courses. The international students have to bear the tuition fees which ranges between NZ$ 26,000 – 37,000 (INR 12 lakhs- 17 lakhs). However, international PhD students shed the same amount as domestic PhD students, which is approximately NZ$ 6,500 – 9,000 (INR 30,000 –  40,000).

For international students, the accommodation costs have to be included in the final estimates of the cost of studying in New Zealand. Although the majority of universities provide students with on-campus residential facilities, the students also have the option of staying off-campus or self-catered accommodations. On average, the cost of staying in the residential apartments of universities is NZ$ 270 (INR 13,000) per week. On the other hand, the cost of self-catered settlements is approximately NZ$ 170 (INR 8,000) per week.

Cost of Studying in New Zealand: Student Visa

While calculating the total cost of studying in New Zealand, student visa charges are also considered. You can apply for the visa either online or through the paper and based on the mode, the fees varies. On average, NZ$270(INR 13,000) is charged for applying through online mode. Apart from a valid full-time student visa, you also need to have a medical and travel insurance.
